Bioactivity Bacillosporin C is an oxaphenalenone dimer originally isolated from T. bacillosporus. Bacillosporin C, an anhydride, is formed from the lactone bacillosporin D in the mangrove endophytic fungus SBE-14. Similar oxaphenalenone dimers have antibiotic activity and inhibit acetylcholinesterase.
