| Bioactivity | Sauchinone is a diastereomeric lignan isolated from Saururus chinensis (Saururaceae). Sauchinone inhibits LPS-inducible iNOS, TNF-α and COX-2 expression through suppression of I-κBα phosphorylation and p65 nuclear translocation. Sauchinone has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity[1]. |
| Invitro | Sauchinone (1, 3, 10, 30μm; 6 hours) inhibits LPS-inducible increase in the iNOS mRNA in Raw264.7 cells[1]. Sauchinone at the concentrations of 3 and 30 μm inhibits TNF-α production in LPS-treated cells by 40 and 50%, respectively[1]. |
