Bioactivity Pyronaridine-d4 (tetraphosphate) is the deuterium labeled Pyronaridine tetraphosphate[1]. Pyronaridine tetraphosphate is an orally active Mannich base anti-malarial agent. Pyronaridine tetraphosphate is active against P. falciparum and Echinococcus granulosus infection[2][3].
Invitro Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs[1].
