Bioactivity Nandrolone phenylpropionate, a 19-nor-testosterone derivative, is an anabolic steroid that promotes protein synthesis. Nandrolone phenylpropionate alleviates tissue catabolism and can be used for osteoporosis and Turner syndrome research[1][2].
In Vivo Nandrolone phenylpropionate (4.0 mg/kg/d; daily; for 14 days) treatment significantly increases the weight gain of rats. Nandrolone phenylpropionate treatment increases the mixed muscle protein fractional synthetic rate (FSR). And the muscle free cathepsin D activity is significantly increased by Nandrolone phenylpropionate treatment, indicating increased muscle protein degradation, total cathepsin D activity is unchanged[1].
