Bioactivity | Inakalant is an atrial specific potassium channel blocker with antiarrhythmic activity. Inakalant works by selectively blocking potassium channels in heart cells, thereby prolongs the action potential duration (APD) of cardiomyocytes and increases the effective refractory period of the atria and ventricles, which helps to terminate and prevent the occurrence of arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation (AF). Inakalant can be used in the study of arrhythmia and cardiac electrophysiology[1]. |
