Bioactivity | (Z)-Methyl tetradec-9-enoate (Myristoleic acid methyl ester; Methyl myristoleate) is a cytotoxic component extracted from S. repens fruit extract. It induces apoptosis and necrosis in human prostate cancer LNCaP cells. In addition, (Z)-Methyl tetradec-9-enoate found in cheese-making byproducts inhibits Candida albicans germination with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 9 μM in vivo. |
