Description | Basiliximab (CHI 621) is a chimeric mouse/human IgG1 monoclonal recombinant antibody against the interleukin-2 receptor. Basiliximab has good immunosuppressive activity and can be used in the study of kidney transplantation. |
In vitro | Specifically inhibiting T lymphocyte proliferation, Basiliximab binds to IL-2Rα[1]. It binds only to activated lymphocytes and macrophages/monocytes[3]. Basiliximab does not affect resting T lymphocytes that do not express IL-2Rα[2]. |
