Bioactivity UDP-sugar pyrophosphorylase (BlUSP) is the enzyme capable of activating glucose-1-phosphate (Glc-1-P) to UDP-glucose (UDP-Glc). UDP-sugar pyrophosphorylase (BlUSP) catalyzes a reversible transfer of the uridyl group from UTP to sugar-1-phosphate, producing UDP-sugar and pyrophosphate (PPi)[1].
