Bioactivity Triphenylethylene is an aromatic hydrocarbon that possesses weak estrogenic activity. Triphenylethylene antiestrogens relax duodenal intestinal muscle via a mechanism that involves inhibition of L-type Ca2+ channels but not activation of K+ channels[1].
