Bioactivity Tetrahydrozoline-d4 (hydrochloride) is the deuterium labeled Tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride. Tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride (Tetryzoline hydrochloride), a derivative of imidazoline, is an α-adrenergic agonist that causes vasoconstriction. Tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride is widely used for the research of nasal congestion and conjunctival congestion[1][2].
Invitro Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs[1].
