Bioactivity | Teicoplanin A2-2 is a glycopeptide antibiotic. Teicoplanin A2-2 exhibits antibacterial activity, particularly against coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS). Teicoplanin A2-2 inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by competitively binding to the terminal D-Ala-D-Ala peptide bonds in the cell wall synthesis process, leading to bacterial death. Teicoplanin A2-2 can be used for research into bacterial resistance mechanisms and the development of new antibiotics[1]. |
