Bioactivity | Taraxerol acetate is a COX-1 and COX-2 inhibitor with IC50 values of 116.3 μM and 94.7 μM, respectively. Taraxerol acetate the has the anticancer potential and induces cell apoptosis[1]. |
Invitro | Taraxerol acetate(10-150 µM; 24 or 48 hours) induces a dose- and time-dependent cytotoxic effects in the U87 cells, exhibits IC50 values of 34.2 and 28.4 µM, at 24 and 48 h, respectively[2].Taraxerol acetate(10, 50 and 150 µM; 24 hours) induces cell apoptosis, the percentage of apoptotic cells increased from 7.3% in the control cells, to 16.1, 44.1 and in the 10, 50 and 150 µM taraxerol acetate-treated cells, respectively. Furthermore, taraxerol acetate treatment led to sub-G1 cell cycle arrest with a corresponding decrease in the number of S-phase cells[2]. |
