Bioactivity Stearic acid-PEG-CH2CO2H, MW 3400 is a lipophilic thiol-reactive PEG polymer. The stearic acid can be used to encapsulate hydrophobic therapeutic agents while the PEG chain increases overall water solubility and biocompatibilty. Reaction between carboxylic acid (-COOH) and amine (-NH2) vai condensation in the presence of activator, such as HATU or EDC, generates a stable amide linkage. Reagent grade, for research use only.
