Bioactivity | RS 49676 is an N-substituted imidazole compound that exhibits strong in vitro activity against endogenous amoebae (ED50 < 0.1 ng/mL), but is ineffective against exogenous amoebae (epimastigotes). In vivo, RS 49676 (100 mg/kg/d, sc, 2 times) can prolong the average survival time of mice infected with Trypanosoma cruzi to more than 11 weeks. |
