Bioactivity | Quinapril is a potent, orally active, non-peptide and nonsulfhydryl inhibitor of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). Quinapril specifically interrupts the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II in both plasma and tissue. Quinapril is enzymatically hydrolyzed to a pharmacologically active diacid form quinaprilat. Quinapril is efficacious in hypertensive models[1]. |
