Bioactivity Protamine from salmon is a biochemical agent with antioxidant, antiheparin and antimicrobial activities. Protamine from salmon neutralizes the anticoagulant effect of heparin, thereby preventing the formation of antithrombin complexes in canine samples pretreated with heparin in vitro[1].
