Bioactivity Polycarpine hydrochloride (1a) is a broad-spectrum Mpro inhibitor (IC50 = 30 nM) that can be isolated from the Polycarpa aurata and also serves as an anti-coronaviral agent. Polycarpine hydrochloride possesses antiviral and antifungal activities, with IC50 values of 30.0 nM and 0.12 μM against SARS-CoV-2 Mpro and PEDV Mpro, respectively[1].
