Bioactivity Petasitenine (Fukinotoxin) is a pyrrolizidine alkaloid that can be found in the plant Petasites japonicus, which is a carcinogenic metabolite of neopetasitenine. Petasitenine causes lactate dehydrogenase leakage, and exhibits hepatotoxicity[1].
