Bioactivity Penisterpenoid A (Compound 1) is a PINK1/Parkin mitochondrial autophagy signaling pathway activator, which can be isolated from the rhizosphere fungus Penicillium of the medicinal plant Bupleurum. Penicillioid A can reduce lipid accumulation and significantly improve mitochondrial function both in vitro and in vivo[1].
