| Bioactivity | PapRIV is an agonist of BV-2 microglial cells, capable of activating microglial cells through an NF-κB-dependent pathway. PapRIV induces the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNFα and increases the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). PapRIV can cross the blood-brain barrier[1]. |
