Bioactivity Nicorandil-d4 (SG-75-d4) is the deuterium labeled Nicorandil. Nicorandil (SG-75) is a potent potassium channel activator and targets vascular nucleoside diphosphate-dependent K+ channels and cardiac ATP-sensitive K+ channels (KATP). Nicorandil is a nicotinamide ester with vasodilatory and cardioprotective effects and has the potential for angina and forischemic heart diseases[1][2][3].
Invitro Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs[1].
