Bioactivity Maniwamycin E is a maniwamycin derivative isolated from the culture extract of thermotolerant Streptomyces sp. JA74. Maniwamycin E shows antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2 and influenza (H1N1) virus[1].
Invitro Maniwamycin E (compound 2) shows inhibitory activity against the influenza (H1N1) virus infection of MDCK cells with an IC50 value of 63.2 μM, without cytotoxicity as well[1].Maniwamycin E also displays antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2 infection of 293TA and VeroE6T cells with an IC50 value of 9.7 μM, without cytotoxicity as well[1].
