Bioactivity | Lugdunin is an antibiotic peptide. Lugdunin inhibits bacteria by dissipating their membrane potential. Lugdunin is active against Gram-positive bacteria, such as S. aureus, and reduces S. aureus skin and nasal colonization. Lugdunin induces LL-37 and CXCL8/MIP-2 in human keratinocytes and mouse skin[1]. |
