Bioactivity Levocarnitine propionate-d5 (hydrochloride) is the deuterium labeled Levocarnitine propionate hydrochloride. Levocarnitine propionate hydrochloride (L-Propionylcarnitine chloride; ST-261) is used to treat the deterioration of renal function, congestive heart failure, intermittent claudication, and other diseases.
Invitro Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs[1].
