Bioactivity | Isonicotinaldehyde 2-pyridin is an antileishmanial agent that is effective against the promastigotes of L. amazonensis and L. braziliensis. Isonicotinaldehyde 2-pyridin has no significant toxic effects on mouse macrophages. The biological activity of Isonicotinaldehyde 2-pyridin is closely related to increasing reactive oxygen species (ROS) and interfering with parasite mitochondrial function. Isonicotinaldehyde 2-pyridin showed its effects on L. amazonensis in preliminary studies on its pharmacological mechanism of action[1]. |
