Bioactivity Goitrin ((S)-Goitrin), a product of glucosinolate-myrosinase reactions, is a potent inhibitor of thyroid peroxidase. Goitrin can inhibit iodine utilization by the thyroid. Goitrin also exhibits anti-influenza virus (H1N1) activity[1][2][3].
Invitro Goitrin (0.1-1 μM; 72 h) exhibits dose-dependent anti-influenza virus (H1N1) activity in Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells, with an IC50 of 0.19 μM[3].
