Bioactivity | Garcinia cambogia extract contains several active compounds, including hydroxycitric acid (HCA) (an ECC inhibitor), xanthones, benzophenones, hydroxycitric acid (an ATP-citrate lyase inhibitor). Garcinia cambogia extract lowers the body weight gain, visceral fat accumulation, blood and hepatic lipid concentrations, and plasma insulin and leptin levels in a high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obesity mouse model. Garcinia cambogia extract is promising for research of fatty liver, dyslipidemia, hyperinsulinemia and hyperleptinemia rendered by HFD[1][2]. |
