Bioactivity | Fosmidomycin is an orally active antibiotic, which exhibits antimalarial activity through inhibition of 1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate (DOXP) reductoisomerase. Fosmidomycin inhibits P. falciparum strains 3D7, HB3, Dd2 and A2, with IC50s of 150, 71, 170 and 150 ng/mL, respectively. Fosmidomycin exhibits synergistic effect with Clindamycin (HY-B1455), and ameliorates malaria in mouse model[1]. |
