Bioactivity Folinic acid (Leucovorin) disodium is a biological folic acid and is a forms of vitamin B9. Folinic acid disodium is generally administered along with Methotrexate (MTX) (HY-14519) as a rescue agent to decrease MTX-induced toxicity. Folinic acid disodium and Sfluorouracil adjuvant chemotherapy shows effective in colon carcinoma[1][2][3].
Invitro Folinic acid disodium (5, 50 µg/ml; 40 h) significantly reduces % micronucleated binucleated cells (MNBN) (40%-68%) and % aberrant cells (Abs) (36%-77%) in V79 cells that were treated with MTX at five different concentrations 5–100 mg/ml for 6 h[1].
