Bioactivity Euphol acetate is a triterpene that can be isolated from Euphorbia broteri. Euphol acetate is an inhibitor of hepatic transport proteins organic anion-transporting polypeptide 1/3 (OATP1B1/3)[1][2].
Invitro Euphol acetate (10 μM) suppresses the uptake of the OATP1B substrate sodium fluorescein in OATP1B1 (29.2%)- or 1B3 (40.2%)-transfected CHO cells[2].
