Bioactivity Eplerenone-d3 is the deuterium labeled Eplerenone. Eplerenone (Epoxymexrenone) is a selective, competitive and oreally active aldosterone antagonist with an IC50 of 138 nM. Eplerenone has low affinity for progesterone, androgen, estrogen and glucocorticoid receptors. Eplerenone can be used for hypertension and heart failure after myocardial infarction reserch[1][2].
Invitro Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs[1].
