Bioactivity | ES 936 is a potent and specific NQO1 inhibitor, effective at concentrations over 1000 times lower than the non-specific inhibitor Dicoumarol (HY-N0645). NQO1 is generally considered a detoxification enzyme, capable of directly reducing quinones to hydroquinones, which in turn prevents the formation of reactive oxygen species arising from redox cycling. ES 936 can be utilized in cancer research[1]. |
