Bioactivity | Clorgyline (M&B 9302) is an orally active, blood-brain barrier permeable and selective monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) inhibitor. Clorgyline's selective inhibition of MAO-A leads to reduced metabolism of neurotransmitters such as serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine), which accumulates in the brain. Clorgyline can be used in the study of depression and neurodegenerative diseases[1]. |
