Bioactivity | Berninamycin A is a cyclic thiopeptide antibiotic first isolated from S. bernensis. It inhibits protein biosynthesis in Gram positive bacteria through binding with ribosomal subunits. Cyclic thiopeptide antibiotics, including berninamycin A, induce the transcriptional activator TipA in Streptomyces. |
