| Bioactivity | Benzoquinoquinoxaline (BQQ) is a heterocyclic compound with an aminoalkyl side chain. Benzoquinoquinoxaline preferentially binds to DNA triplex structures, intercalates between the bases, thus, stabilising the triplex conformation. Conjugation of Benzoquinoquinoxaline to 1,10-phenanthroline specifically binds and cleaves double strand DNA at the site of formation of a triplex structure[1]. | ||||||||||||
