| Bioactivity | Bathophenanthrolinedisulfonic acid disodium salt is used as a colorimetric reagent for the detection of iron. It is widely used for the determination of iron in aqueous solutions without the use of extraction solvents. It is used as a precursor for the preparation of the anion Europium(III) disulfonated bathophenanthroline tris(dibenzoylformic acid) complex and ruthenium II tris(rubphenanthroline disulfonate). It plays a crucial role in the catalytic oxidation of 2-hexanol by enabling it to form a water-soluble complex with palladium. |
