Bioactivity Ainuovirine is a second-generation non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI). Ainuovirine inhibits HIV replication by non-competitively binding to HIV reverse transcriptase and blocking the reverse transcription process of viral RNA. Ainuovirine can be used for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) type 1 infection[1].
