Bioactivity 5(6)-Carboxynaphthofluorescein is a pH-dependent fluorophore. 5(6)-Carboxynaphthofluorescein shows good sensitivity in an alkaline pH range and it can be exploited in the construction of fiber-optic pH sensors. 5(6)-Carboxynaphthofluorescein can be used as a fluorescent pH indicator (Ex/Em=593/668 nm)[1].
Invitro 5(6)-Carboxynaphthofluorescein can be used as a fluorescent pH indicator, it is sensitive in the pH range from 6.6 to 8.6 with a pKa value of 7.6[1].5(6)-Carboxynaphthofluorescein have fluorescence properties, with excitation wavelength=593 nm, emission spectrum=668 nm[1].
