The metabolite of (Rac)-Rhododendrol, RD-quinone, is cytotoxic and causes enzyme inactivation and endoplasmic reticulum stress by binding to thiol proteins. (Rac)-Rhododendrol-derived melanin exhibits potent pro-oxidant activity and may cause oxidative stress[1]. |
