Description | Scyliorhinin I also called Scyliorhinin I, amide, dogfish, a peptide with tachykinin-like activity, has been isolated from the intestine of the common dogfish, Scyliorhinus caniculus. Scyliorhinin I shows high sequence homology with physalaemin and crossreacts with antisera directed against the C-terminal region of substance P. Scyliorhinin I possesses high affinity for NK1 and NK2 receptors, and a 50-250 times reduced affinity for NK3 receptors. |
