N-Myristylation provided the octapeptide with an inhibitory activity against protein kinase C (PKC)-catalyzed Ca2+ and phosphatidylserine-dependent histone phosphorylation (IC50 = 5 µM). It has been shown that Myr-RKRTLRRL is the first synthetic PKC inhibitor with demonstrated pharmacological activity in intact cells. |
