Description H-Asp-Arg-Val-Tyr-Ile-His-Pro-Phe-His-Leu-Val-Ile-His-Ser-OH also called (Ser14)-Angiotensinogen (1-14) (human), (Ser14)-Preangiotensinogen (1-14) (human), (Ser14)-Tetradecapeptide Renin Substrate (human), is an excellent substrate for human kidney renin (Km = 8.4 +/- 2.9 µM, pH 7.2, 37 °C). Human liver cathepsin D, rabbit lung angiotensinogen-converting enzyme, and reconstituted human serum also show slight abilities to cleave this substrate but do not produce detectable amounts of angiotensin I.
