Description | (D-Phe5,Cys6.11,N-Me-D-Trp8)-Somatostatin-14 (5-12) amide also called (N-Me-D-Trp4,Thr8)-Octreotide amide, (N-Me-D-Trp4)-Octreotate amide, is a synthetic somatostatin analog. It is selective for the human somatostatin receptor subtype 5 (hsst5) with a binding affinity similar to somatostatin-28. Its Kd +/-SEM values for hsst1, hsst2, hsst3, hsst4, and hsst5 are 1200 nM, 23.5 +/- 3.92 nM, 11.05 +/- 1.03 nM, > 1000 nM, and 0.61 +/- 0.36 nM, respectively. Due to its selectivity it might prove to be useful for evaluating hsst5-mediated responses. |
