| Description | GT 949 is a selective excitatory positive allosteric modulator of amino acid transporter-2 (EAAT2) (EC50: 0.26 nM). |
| In vitro | GT 949 displays selectivity to EAAT2 and has no effect on glutamate activity mediated by EAAT1 or EAAT3. GT 949 improves glutamate transport (EC50 = 0.26 nM) and increases glutamate transport in a non-competitive manner with an increase in Vmax of about 47% in EAAT2-transfected cells[1]. |
