Description pTH-Related Protein (1-16) (human, mouse, rat) also called Hypercalcemia of Malignancy Factor (1-16) (human, mouse, rat), pTHrP (1-16), is an N-terminal fragment of pTH-related protein lacking a pTH/pTHrP-receptor binding domain. Schlüter et al. observed that pTH-Related Protein (1-16) could activate the cardiac ET-A receptor. On the other hand, Langlois et al. could not detect binding of pTH-Related Protein (1-16) to ET-A nor to the ET-B receptor.
