| Description | Neuromedin S (rat) also called NMS (rat), is a neuromedin U-related neuropeptide specifically expressed in the suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN) of the hypothalamus. Neuromedin S (rat) is implicated in the regulation of circadian rhythms through autocrine and/or paracrine actions. Neuromedin S (rat) showed potent anorexigenic effects and counteracted neuropeptide Y, ghrelin and agouti-related protein-induced food intake. Neuromedin S (rat) acts as a ligand for the G protein-coupled receptor FM4/TGR-1. |
