Description | (Asn670,Sta671,Val672)-Amyloid β/A4 Protein Precursor770 (662-675) also called (Asn670,Sta671,Val672)-APP770 (662-675), represents a potent substrate analog inhibitor of APP β-secretase with IC50 = 30 nM. Amyloid precursor protein (APP) β-secretase from human brain cleaves full-length APP at the amino terminus of the amyloid β-protein (Aβ) sequence, thus leading to the generation and extracellular release of β-cleaved soluble APP and a corresponding cell-associated carboxy-terminal fragment. The subsequent cleavage of the C-terminal fragment by γ-secretase(s) leads to the formation of Aβ. |
