Biological Activity

ln Vitro Adrenocortical hormones' effects on the lymphatic system are countered by thymosin C. The physiological roles of the thymus can be substituted by thymosin C. Thymosin C attracts immature systemic cells in the bone marrow and promotes their maturation to the fully active T cell stage in the lymphatic system when T cells are insufficient. Thymosin C acts on the bone marrow to increase erythropoiesis and granulopoiesis. This formulation has been found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions, including chronic viral, bacterial, and fungal infections; allergic and autoimmune reactions; proliferative syndrome of certain lymphoid tissues; and disorders of the primary and secondary immune systems that involve thymus-dependent T cells.
