RS-09 is a novel synthetic peptide that mimic LPS by interacting with TLR-4 and acting as a TLR4 agonist. This LPS mimotope-TLR-4 interaction will allow for the development and use of these peptides as a new class of adjuvants, namely TLR-4 agonists. It promotes NF-κB nuclear translocation and induces inflammatory cytokine secretion in RAW264.7 macrophages in vitro. It acts as an adjuvant in vivo and can enhance X-15 specific antibody serum concentrations, when administered with X-15-KLH in mice.
