Biological Activity

ln Vitro When thrombin converts fibrinogen to fibrin, protonate sulfate inhibits it. This inhibition is partial, reversible, and concentration-dependent [3]. Derived from salmon sperm, protonate sulfate is a 5-kDa cationic peptide that binds negatively charged unfractionated heparin (UFH). By preventing factor V activation, protonate sulfate inhibits the production of thrombin [4].
ln Vivo Animal cystitis models can be created with the use of propetamine sulfate in animal modeling.
